Johnston Family Photograph Albums

The images in this collection belong to Robert and Madeline Johnston. Robert and Madeline were married in 1956. The Johnstons served as missionaries in Korea in 1958–69, and they spent a year in the Philippines. Robert worked as a college theology professor, and Madeline taught, wrote, and worked at home as mother to four children. Beginning in 1973, Robert taught at the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan. Madeline spent twenty years as an administrative assistant in the Andrews University Mission Department, and she earned an MA in developmental psychology.

The Center for Adventist Research (CAR) digitized this collection in 2017. Digital copies of the prints were donated to CAR. The original prints reside with the Johnstons. The Johnstons provided many of the titles and descriptions used throughout the collection.
