In a few short months the World War came on, and the division conference ceased to function. When the Adventist denomination came into the troubles and perplexities of the World War, the question of division confer- ences was considered again. It had become more and more apparent that the plan of having full-fledged division confer- ences was not advisable. At the next General Conference in 1918, in San Francisco, the European Division Conference was dissolved, and Europe became again what it had been from 1907 to 1913, not a conference, but one of the great divisions of the General Conference, With this, the idea of division conferences fortunately came to an end, and the advent movement in all the earth remained as one church and one message, all the union conferences being represented on the General Conference Com- General Conference officers at Darmstadt Council, 1928 100
