The Sabbath school should be one of the greatest soul-winning agencies in the church, and we want to make it such. This was the theme uppermost in our minds as the meetings progressed. G. R. Nash From this council Elders Nash and Retzer participated in meetings in several local missions in Colombia, Central America, and Mexico. We solicit an interest in your prayers for the advancement of the Sabbath school work in Inter America. —Fernon Retzer “The great Redeemer represents Himself as a heavenly merchantman, laden with riches, calling from house to house, presenting His priceless goods.” —E. G. White Letter 110 Lay Activities Minister Boosts Adventist Welfare Work From early January, 1962, the churches in Westmoreland, a total of 11 churches and companies, had been planning for the Dorcas exhibit which took place on December 26 on the Frome grounds. The exhibits included handicraft, needlework, agricultural produce, art, and pastry. Thousands of visitors from the entire West Jamaica Con- ference attended, purchasing and participating in the various activities. The churches operated stalls and sold whatever produce and other commodities they had brought. High lights of the activities were the addresses by Senator Esmie Grant, a representative of the gov- ernment, who opened the pro- gramme, and Elder W. U. Campbell. president of ithe West Indies Union. Senator Grant spoke in favour of the work we are doing and said that the government was willing to help in our enterprises. The proceeds will be used to finance a central Dorcas welfare centre, from which other centres will receive help. —W.
