No, they weren’t witnessing to the dead. Instead, they were pre- paring for the next couple days when the Mexican graveyards would be packed with visitors coming in for Day of the Dead celebrations. Every November 1 and 2, many families in Mex- ico gather together and visit cemeteries. Some get drunk. Others have religious celebra- tions that include praying the rosary. A great number of them bring along the favorite foods of the deceased ones, thinking their loved ones will taste it again.
