Abstract
  • 1. Map of Russia: Russia is the world's largest country in land area. It has a population of 280 million. --- 2. Inside building: Russia has many old and wonderful buildings. --- 3. Soldiers marching: We usually think of Russia as a mighty world power. They are capable of building the most advanced jets, tanks, and missiles. --- 4. Lady selling food: Yet Russia is unable to trade with the free world because their currency is unaccepted and they have little to trade us in goods. --- 5. Bud & Rose: "Our Visit to Russia." The first contact between the SDA Church and the Russian government was made a few years ago by Julie's cousins, Bud and Rose Otis. Buddy was the president of our Review and Herald Publishing house and was displaying some of our books at a book fair in Russia. The Russian Minister of Religion stopped by his booth and was impressed by the presentation. Bud invited him to stop by the publishing house on his next trip. --- 6. A Common Bond (in Russian): A Common Bond - Adventist Christians are closely bonded by their common beliefs. This magazine article describes a lifelong SDA Russian family. --- 10. A Common Bond (in English): The common bond between Adventists is then shown in the life of an American family. --- 11. Adventists in the 20th Century (in Russian): The Russian language uses more printed space than English does, as you can see from our next slide. --- 12. Adventists in the 20th Century (in English): The same information is printed in English. The Russian edition has smaller pictures and had to eliminate some altogether. --- 13. Churches in Russia. --- 14. Music high days: Music is important to our ministry. --- 15. Faith in God: Personal testimonies given by Russian and American Adventists. --- 16. Alcoholism: A world-wide problem, the Russians' accept our religion because we represent a health message and support the God ordained governments of the world.
