Approximately 7,000 square yards of carpeting are being installed in the chemistry and biology buildings of the Andrews University science complex in preparation for classes this fall. Carpet layers above are Rick Schwarz (left) and Tom Wedel. Carpeting was chosen rather than other types of floors covering because of it sease of maintenance, aesthetic qualities facilitating learning, and acoustical properties. In addition, chemistry laboratories such as the one above will incur less glassware breakage by using carpet.
