White saw a vivid portrayal of the plan of salvation from Paradise lost to Paradise restored. The engraving shows the fall of man, the sacrificial system pointing to Christ, the law of God, baptism, the Lord's supper, and Heaven. All this is presented in such a way as to help the viewer understand the plan of salvation in a visual way. This is a copy of the original engraving commissioned by James White and published in 1876. He obtained the idea from M. G. Kellogg's similar engraving dated 1873. Written in the front: "Christ, the Way of Life; Copyrigh 1883 by Mrs. E. G. White"
