This black walnut chest was the personal possession of Elder J. N. Andrews and was used by him for carrying tracts as he traveled from place to place giving Bible lectures, in company with Elder James White. It was hand crafted by a cabinet maker at Allegan, Michigan.
Portrait of J. N. Andrews taken while he was in Rosenhayn, New Jersey. Original print is undated but was likely created in the 1870s based on the style of the carte de visite.
